From The Homeowner
The house was a long time coming and a dream come true. I called Stillwater, Kaveh flew down to meet us, and my husband and I were immediately on board. I felt so comfortable with Stillwater that we hired our contractor without bidding the job out. The next 14 months were a breeze. Literally no hiccups, no hold ups, no hassles. And the house we wound up with is a joy to live in. It’s bright, it’s simple, and it feels like home.
I'm a horse person, so I describe the main hallway as my center aisle. It's wide, it's airy, and it servers as the perfect gallery for our photography and art pieces. And the house takes full advantage of the spectacular views of the valley, with the full-length glass doors in both the great room and the master bedroom. In hindsight, there is nothing I would change in either the house or the guest house. Both are just perfect. We couldn't be happier!
From The Homeowner"Having studied architecture, we were probably one of the most difficult clients Stillwater could have had; nonetheless, they were extremely collaborative and we feel we created an amazing house that met all our needs and budget."
The Stillwater Dwellings Process
The First Step
Undoubtedly, you have questions or would like additional information. The first step is to email or give us a call. We understand you are in the process of discovering how you would like to move forward building your new home and we are happy to provide you with all the information you need to make an informed decision. We are available to answer any questions.
Our Three-Phase Process
We have developed a highly efficient three-phase design and construction system. Our team of professional architects and production managers personally guide you through the straightforward process from the first day you contact us until the day you move in.
Phase One
Design & Pricing
You work closely with a team of Stillwater architects and project managers to select and develop a design best suited for your site, budget and wish list. After a comprehensive site visit by a Stillwater Project Manager, Stillwater conducts an analysis of zoning and building permit requirements and helps site the home on your property. Our architects then develop complete plans incorporating necessary modifications along with a comprehensive specification document detailing materials, options and finishes. Upon completion of the documentation, Stillwater produces a price for the components provided by Stillwater Dwellings as well as a cost estimate for all elements of the project provided by others.
Phase Two
Engineering & Permitting (Component Package Agreement)
Upon formalization of a Home Purchase Agreement, based on the pricing established in phase one, the final design, engineering and permitting begins. Stillwater architects develop final detailed floor plans and oversee the production of engineering and permit drawings. Project managers work with your local building department and agencies to apply for customary permits. The building contractor will use the final engineering drawings to refine many of the on-site related costs.
Phase Three
Fabrication & Construction
Your home will begin production in our climate controlled manufacturing facility. The Stillwater team will work closely with the local contractor to finalize all related costs and the contractor will schedule the site work and begin work on the foundation, driveway, and utility hookups. Fabricated components will be shipped to the site, and installed according to the plans.
